Divisions
All the information provided by students in the digital entry form has been used to allocate competitors into the different divisions, create the draws, and help us plan the timing for the entire day.
You can find the specific division you have been entered at the link below. You can simply search for your name and find your divisions.
As was stated, if you are entered into the wrong division as result of incorrect information being provided, you may be unable to participate in the event and no refund will be given for your entry payment.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Format
All divisions will be contested in a double elimination format. Each division will have a set draw sheet of competitor bouts, which can be found at the link below.
Each division will have a unique five digit number. This number is for the organising committee to make sure that students have been assigned to the correct division. The number consists of a competitors gender, age, event, grade and height.
Each division will have a Gold, Silver and Bronze medalist. If a competitor fails to progress through the original draw sheet, they will be asked to compete again to settle the bronze medal winner.
Patterns
- All Lil' Warriors will perform their fundamental sequences, either Saju Makgi or Saju Jirugi. Students will be called up to the mats in pairs and asked to perform a sequence selected by the head umpire, which will be announced to the student before starting.
- All White & Coloured Belt students will perform one designated patterns throughout the rounds. All students will be asked to perform their grade pattern (e.g. Chon-Ji Tul, Dan-Gun Tul), or if you have graded recently, the most senior pattern that you know.
- All divisions will be separated by grade, so competitors will face another competitor of a similar age and grade.
An example of a Patterns bout has been included below. The video example is of a Black Belt bout of the highest level, filmed by TKD Tekkers at The Warrior Open.
Sparring
-
All Lil’ Warriors will freestyle spar for 30 seconds. This format is designed to showcase their abilities and techniques they have learnt in class. All competitors will be provided with protective equipment and contact levels will be closely monitored by a Senior Umpire.
-
All White & Coloured Belt competitors will spar for a duration of 1 minute per bout. Sparring bouts will be semi-contact. White Belt and White Belt with Yellow Stripe students will be provided protective equipment if they have chosen to compete in the sparring divisions.
An example of a Patterns bout has been included below. The video example is of a Black Belt bout of the highest level, filmed by TKD Tekkers at The Warrior Open.
