Competition Details
We are aware that many of our Lil Warriors students wish to compete but don’t have any sparring equipment yet. Previously, Lil’ Warriors were provided with the necessary equipment, but with new Covid measures, this is no longer an option.
In light of this, the Lil’ Warrior sparring event for The Warrior Open has now been revised, so no sparring equipment will be necessary.
There will still be two competitive events relating to the two main aspects of training that they focus on in class, Sparring and Patterns. However, these will require the children to showcase their techniques and skills as in a demonstration format. There will not be any contact sparring, which is why protective sparring equipment will not be necessary.
This change applies to the Lil’ Warriors event and age group only. These are the 5-6 year-olds who wear a black uniform. The above does not apply to Cadets, Juniors or Senior White, Coloured and Black Belts, anyone 7 years or above, who trains in the white uniform.
All students will be properly prepared by the instructors in class, and will know exactly what they need to do.
Participation Requirement
Participation in The Warrior Open is mandatory for all students who started training with us on or before 31 December 2021. For our newer members, it is not compulsory, although you are most welcome to.
Parents, if your child started with us, on or after 1 January 2022, and you wish to check if they are ready and able to participate, please contact the Admin team Office@deSilvaTKD.com who will liaise with their club instructor to confirm.
