The Warrior Open – Lil’ Warrior Competition Update

With a positive outlook and the return to safe and regular competition, we are thrilled to confirm that we will be hosting The Warrior Open on Saturday 12 March 2022.
The competition is compulsory for all De Silva Club members as it is a unique opportunity to compete locally in London as a hosting club in an International Championship.
This is the safest way for students to stress test the skills they have been training as well as learn valuable life lessons about confidence, perseverance and self control. With that being said, every additional opportunity to compete in a tournament is of a huge benefit to the student, particularly those few which are local in London.

CATEGORIES and ENTRY FEES
Competitors can participate in two categories; Pattern and Sparring
The Warrior Open is for all our students, from the age of 5 upwards and all grades (White Belt, Coloured Belt and Black Belt).

YOUR WARRIORS NEED YOU
As you can imagine, this is a huge event and we have been really taken back by the overwhelming support we have already received, with a number of parents and friends asking if we need any help.
We are recruiting 50 volunteers to be part of the official organisation team.
- No martial arts training or knowledge is required at all.
- You also need not be a student, so friends or friends of friends are most welcome to apply.
- We do not just require help on the day itself, but in the build up too, so if your time is limited, you can still play an important role.
Everyone selected will receive specialist training from Master de Silva, Mr Kool and the organising committee, so you will be fully prepared.

EQUIPMENT
All De Silva students must wear the academy’s tracksuit* (top & bottoms) upon arrival, and change into either their Black Lil’ Warrior Uniform (5-6 year olds on the Lil’ Warriors Programme) or White De Silva TKD Club Uniform (7 years +).
Unfortunately due to supply issues, some of you are yet to receive your tracksuit or have been unable to purchase a uniform. It looks like it will take several weeks until they are in stock but we will be in regular contact with the supplier and once the uniforms and tracksuits are back in stock we will notify you that they are available.
IMPORTANT- No sparring equipment will be available to hire on the day, please bring your own.

- Semi-contact gloves
- Semi-contact boots

- Shin pads
- Groin guard (males)
