23 April 2017Just days after being selected as ITF England’s new Technical Director, Johann De Silva has been appointed Head Coach of the England ITF Taekwondo National Team.
The De Silva Taekwondo founder has been an England coach since February 2016, working with the squad at last year’s European Championships. He replaces former Head Coach Master Philip Lear, who recently departed after four successful years in charge.
Johann will be Head Coach for two years, and will be hoping that can push the England team to even greater heights. His first test will be at the AETF European Championships in Bulgaria in April, but the biggest competition will be the ITF World Championships, which take place in Ireland in October.
Johann said: “To be selected as the Head Coach for the England team is the biggest honour I could have. I am hopeful that the team can get off to a good start at the European Championships.”You could be taught taekwondo by England’s new head coach.
