De Silva Taekwon-do students ALL pass winter grading

28 January 2018Many De Silva Taekwon-do students braved adverse weather conditions to compete in the annual Interclub Championship on 10 December 2017.
The championship, which gives all De Silva Taekwon-do colour belts and Lil’ Warriors the opportunity to compete against students of a similar height and experience level, took place at the Everyone Active Leisure Centre in Harrow.
However, heavy snow caused transport difficulties for students and instructors, with over 50% of the 75 registered competitors unable to reach the venue.
Despite this setback, the Interclub Championship went ahead, with colour belts competing in tuls, sparring and special techniques. Lil’ Warriors went freestyle, showing off combinations of moves that they have learned in class.
Johann De Silva was delighted to see so many students brave the snow. He said:
“All students who were able to attend did their academies proud, competing with maturity and control.”
