Team Warrior enjoyed another successful Holland Cup at De Viergang, Pijnacker with Jason ‘The Gladiator’ Carsberg and Ben Halpin winning silver medals for sparring. This comes after Jason and Adam ‘Ace’ Bonwick won gold at last year’s tournament.
The Holland Cup 2017, organised by ITF Netherlands coach Tim Kool, used an electronic scoring system for the first time as the number of high-level competitors increased. Given the standard of the competition and the fact that Team Warrior only had two athletes at the tournament, coming away with a couple of medals is a great return.
Johann De Silva, who travelled to Holland with Jason and Ben was delighted with his team’s efforts. “These were excellent performances from both Jason and Adam against a high calibre of opposition,” said the ITF England coach. “The guys fought very well.”
